CEO + Clinical Director
I'm so happy you decided to stop by! I know the typical "about me" page lists lots of credentials, certifications + achievements (you will find some listed here), but I want this to also be a space where you get a glimpse of who I am. Then you can decide if you would like to work with me. Here we go...
Relationships are complex + life is hard! Sometimes well-meaning intentions get lost in translation. Sometimes things that are out of our control happen to us.
No matter the situation - there is hope!
I believe that every relationship can recover from even the most tragic events. Will it be easy? No. Will it be quick? No. But if you're willing to do the work, I will do my best to help guide you down a path that not only leads to stability - but a thriving, successful life!
I am not the type of therapist to glaze over the white elephant in the room. I am willing to get "down in the trenches" + do the nitty gritty work it's going to take to move forward. When I say that we can talk about anything in therapy, I DO mean anything. The only way to move forward is to confront the things that hold us back. I will challenge you to think outside of the box.
Hi - my name is Neromi Horton better known as Romi. I serve as the Administrative Assistant at From the Heart Counseling, Inc. I love the idea of creating a safe place for others which sparked my interest in being able to work with the clinicians here.
I'm a stay at home comedian and TV host. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, singing, dancing, reading and brainstorming about new ideas to create multiple streams of income.
I like nice things and I'd like to provide for those in need and teach them how to create their own income #BossLife. I love Jesus & teaching others about Him and the Word of God. Thank you so much for the opportunity to serve you & I can't wait to meet you all.
My purpose in life is to share my abilities to accept people for who they are and provide a safe place for them to express their authentic self. My true passion is to connect and be present with people during their time of change and uncertainty. I have worked in the field for over 20 years and my experience has been vast with inpatient therapy, day hospital programs, intensive outpatient, crisis counseling and therapeutic day school programming.
I am a native of the North side of Chicago and attended Chicago Public Schools from K-12 grade. I am a mother of 3 daughters, married for 12 years and love being a dance mom but not like Abby Lee’s Dance Moms. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching football and basketball and love to laugh. I feel laughter is very important to have in my life. I love to sing, dance, read and watch Investigation Discovery. I am excited about working as your therapist at From the Heart Counseling and look forward to getting to know you.
